Instrumental TranscommunicationwithStafford Betty

Books Mentioned In This Interview

Stafford Betty, PhD, is professor of religious studies at California State University at Bakersfield. He is author of Heaven and Hell Unveiled, The Afterlife Unveiled, and When Did You Ever Become Less by Dying?

Here he notes that electronic communication between the living and the deceased stands as an alternative to mediumistic communication. He reviews the history of Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) and Instrumental Transcommunication (ITC), and provides examples of credible cases. He points out that there are thousands of individuals today who are experimenting in this arena. Nevertheless, as of now, the evidentiality of ITC for survival of consciousness is weaker than it is for other lines of inquiry such as near-death experience and mediumship.

New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in parapsychology to be awarded by an accredited university (University of California, 1980).
