A Transportable Bench to Research Telekinetic Effects on a Spinning Mobile | Eric Dullin

Eric Dullin, researcher at the Psychophysics and Cognitive Dissonance Laboratory (LAPDC) in France follows up on his previous telekinesis and psychokinesis (TK/PK) research by designing a spinning mobile device that leaves only thermic and aerodynamic variables present. The new mobile allows for precise analysis of motion, making it an ideal configuration for TK/PK experiments.

Dullin sought to optimize his research by making a transportable configuration with a high signal-to-noise ratio, achieved by using a heavier target and improved method of smoke generation.

This new transportable configuration was then tested against Dullin’s static bench, used in his previous studies, in a reference experiment. The static bench was driven by an air pump to determine the lowest airspeed needed to spin the mobile. In contrast, the transportable bench was powered by an individual practicing telekinesis/psychokinesis (PKer). Both configurations were equipped with Particle Image Velocimetry, a system that utilizes lasers to measure airflow speeds around the target.

An analysis of the data from the experiment showed that the PK experiments had ten times lower tangential airflow than what would’ve been needed to spin the mobile via air pump. In order to further validate the findings, experiments were then conducted to identify any possible sources of error. Possible artifacts included spontaneous vertical air drafts and the presence of the PKers bodyweight leaned against the experimental bench.

Based on the data from reference and artifact testing, it was concluded that the motion of the mobile was not caused by aerodynamic or thermal variables and the transportable bench was an effective configuration for macro-PK experiments.

Presented at the “62nd Annual Convention of the Parapsychological Association” on July 4, 2019, Paris, France; program chaired by Ramsés D’Leon. Download the Abstracts at https://www.parapsych.org/articles/37/483/2019_pa_convention_abstracts_of.aspx

The Parapsychological Association is an international professional organization of scientists and scholars engaged in the study of psi (or ‘psychic’) experiences, such as telepathy, clairvoyance, psychokinesis, psychic healing, and precognition. The primary objective of the PA is to achieve a scientific understanding of these experiences.

A longer version of this convention video, including the Q&A period, is available to PA members-only at parapsych.org. There is a level of PA membership for everyone interested in the scientific and scholarly advancement of parapsychology. Learn more at: https://www.parapsych.org/join_the_pa.aspx
