Thomas Brophy, PhD, is president of the California Institute of Human Science. He also serves as president of the Society for Consciousness Studies. Here he shares his thinking about the elements of an integral education. He suggests that it should address the whole person and should prepare students to make a positive contribution to the well-being of society. Students at the California Institute of Human Science receive an education that has both technical and spiritual components. They are encouraged to also engage in some form of inner-work as part of their program.
