March 24th Beth Hedva Doing Something about It Clinical Parapsychology

Presented on March 24th, 2023, for the Parapsychology Research and Education course (also known as ParaMOOC2023).

Abstract: Clinical parapsychologists are less concerned with validating and studying the presence of anomalous events than they are dealing with them. They focus on intervening and then resolving the crises those events cause for individuals, groups, and families.

From objects spontaneously flying through the air or appearing to move of their own accord without human contact to unusual sounds knocking and Tapping, to electrical lights turning on and off by themselves — all these seemingly “ghostly” displays are most often defined by parapsychologists as recurrent, spontaneous psychokinesis (RSPK). However, there is a difference between a ghost and what is popularly known to the general public and parapsychologists alike as a “poltergeist.” Unlike a deceased, disincarnate spirit being responsible for these perplexing, often upsetting, and outlandish events, parapsychological field research has shown that they are frequently traced to the unconscious, unexpressed, usually conflictual emotional energy of a group or individual, often as a witness, unaware of their role as an unwitting “poltergeist agent.”

This talk outlines how to blend scientific knowledge with clinical tools and conventional crisis intervention techniques, while also working with psychic energy and intuitive resources to help individuals and families alike confront their fear of the unknown – in order to find new, enlightening ways to meet these most challenging circumstances.
