Books Mentioned In This Interview

David K. Osborn is an herbalist, licensed acupuncturist, medical astrologer and the founder of the website, www.GreekMedicine.net.

Here he points out the connection between the philosophy underlying the practice of medicine in ancient Greece, and the teachings of the early pre-Socratic philosophers such as Empedocles, who developed the concept of four elements in nature. He also notes the relationship between medicine and altered states of consciousness — focusing on the Asclepeions, or sleep temples, in the ancient world. He also describes how the Hermetic principle of “As Above, So Below” applies to the ancient practice of medicine.
