Abstract

In this presentation, veteran parapsychological field investigator and educator Loyd Auerbach will discuss apparitional experiences and phenomena as evidence for Consciousness surviving bodily death. He’ll first examine differences between the various “ghostly” phenomena of apparitions, hauntings, and poltergeists and then segway into different categories of apparitions. He’ll present some commonsense questions in relation to the evidence that can lead quickly to the dismissal of much folklore about ghosts. From there, he’ll briefly discuss theories and models of apparitions, why they may “stick around,” and what makes a great evidential apparition case. He’ll finish up with a deep dive into cases that provide strong evidence for apparitions as an interactive consciousness – without a physical body.

Biography

Loyd Auerbach, MS, is the Director of the Office of Paranormal Investigations with 43 years of experience investigating the paranormal and over 40 years teaching courses on Parapsychology. He is President of the Forever Family Foundation, on the Board of the Rhine Research Center, and teaches online Parapsychology courses for the Rhine Education Center and Atlantic University. He’s the author/co-author of 9 books on the paranormal and is also a performing mentalist.
