50 Years of Parapsychology à la Française by Mario Varvoglis

Parapsychology Foundation International Affiliate Dr. Mario Varvoglis presents “50 Years of Parapsychology à la française.”

Dr. Varvoglis abstract:

One of the early defining events of my involvement in the field was when I attended the 1978 PF conference in Paris (Psi and States of Awareness); I was practically smuggled into that prestigious meeting by Chuck Honorton, much to the displeasure of Allan Angoff. Little did I know, at the time, that 7 years later I’d be moving to France and that I would eventually end up President of the Institut Métapsychique, France’s principal psi research and educational center.

In this webinar I’ll be covering some of the key developments from the mid-1970s up through today, including PK research with the tychoscope, the “French Geller”, Jean-Pierre Girard, the activities of the IMI and other items. There’s no clear cut theme that ties it all together, but some may perceive a dash of the famous or notorious French touch throughout it all.

Biography: Mario Varvoglis, Ph.D., past President of the Parapsychological Association and recipient of the PA’s Distinguished Career award, has been involved in the field since the mid-1970s. He is currently President of France’s Institut Métapsychique International

(IMI), historically one of Europe’s principle psychical research centers. His

parapspychology work has focused on micro-psychokinesis,precognition, and telepathy,in the ganzfeld while working at the Maimonides Dream lab (New York) , Psychophysical Research Labs (Princeton) and the IMI in Paris. Besides his professional publications, he has authored two general public books and the educational CD-ROM Psi Explorer.
